I Believe In Jesus

I Believe In Jesus by John MacArthur is a beautiful resource for the Christian parent to aid in leading young children to Christ. My youngest son is 6 years old, and we are in church constantly. He's been asking questions about salvation and baptism for a couple of years now, but I've hesitated to have him pray to accept Jesus yet because he's so young and I don't want to lead him to just pray a prayer and not have him remember it and doubt his salvation later in life. I wanted to make sure he was truly ready and fully understood the Bible plan of salvation before I prayed with him. So when I saw this new book, I felt like it was the perfect timing and opportunity to get it for him. The book description reads:

"Practice for Discover how to lead your child to Christ.

It's the most important conversation you'll ever have with your child, but that doesn't make it easy. The gospel is simple enough for little ones, but has kept theologians debating for years. So when it comes to explaining the Good News to your son or duaghter, where do you start?

In I Believe in Jesus, John MacArthur walks children though the gospel of Jesus in a way that is easy to understand, and equips parents, grandparents, teachers, and loved ones to to share the familiar story of God's love.

By opening the door to conversations that lead to salvation, this picture books has the potential to change lives forever."

When the book arrived in the mail, my six year old saw the well-illustrated, colorful cover and begged me to read it to him right away. He was so excited about it. I got in a quiet place and read it to him. The illustrations in this book are gorgeous. I see this is an updated version that's received a facelift, complete with new illustrations. The new pictures are very high quality and captivating. The colors are bright and beautiful, and my son loved the pictures. The words are just right, too - I'd say this book is perfect for 4-8 year olds, He presents the full Gospel message in simple terms that a child can understand while being clear and faithful to the Bible message. Each page also includes a Bible verse or two that back up what he shares on that page. My son was captivated by the words as well as the pictures. When the books said "Jesus is looking for people to come live in his beautiful Heaven with Him", he said "I will!!!" with excitement. By the time we got to the end of the book where he invites children to pray to receive Jesus as their Savior, my son was ready and asking to pray. He was so happy and excited to get saved and he is getting baptized this Sunday at church. As a mom, this book helped me feel confident that he truly understood the Gospel message and it was in words that he understood and were clear to him. I highly recommend this book as a tool for parents looking for helpful aids to leading their children to Christ.

I received a copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
